Dr. Emil Velasquez is a licensed acupuncturist in California with a Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Specializing in infertility treatment, Dr. Emil brings extensive expertise in women’s health, mental health, neuromuscular disorders, and pain management. His commitment to promoting wellness through acupuncture and Chinese medicine inspired the founding of Malaya Acupuncture & Wellness Center.
When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Emil is dedicated to staying active and living a balanced life. He trains in capoeira, a dynamic Brazilian martial art, and enjoys long walks with his dog, Nami. A passionate advocate for self-development and wellness, he’s also an avid reader of books in these areas. This year, Dr. Emil proudly completed both his first half marathon and full marathon in San Francisco.
Kristie Le, L.Ac
Kristie Le is a licensed acupuncturist in California with a Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She believes deeply in the connection between mind, body, and environment and uses acupuncture and Chinese medicine to help patients heal by addressing the root causes of their ailments.
Inspired by the legacy of the barefoot doctor, Kristie is passionate about improving individual health to foster a healthier community. Outside of her practice, she enjoys rock climbing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and is a big advocate for rest—having spent last year recharging in New Zealand’s nature and guiding stargazing tours under the Southern Hemisphere’s sky.
Tania Rodriguez, Office Manager
Tania is the vibrant and welcoming presence you’ll encounter as soon as you step into our new clinic. A mother of two and a proud East Oakland native, Tania has deep roots in the community and is passionate about supporting the neighborhood she grew up in. Her enthusiasm for helping others makes her an invaluable part of our team.
Outside of work, Tania enjoys quality time with her family, discovering new foods, and exploring new destinations. And here’s a fun fact: she’s an avid collector of Starbucks mugs from all the places she visits!
Marielle Ramsay, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker & In-House Mental Health Therapist
Marielle is the in-house mental health therapist at our clinic, offering compassionate support to families and couples through attachment-based therapy. As a bilingual (Spanish and English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she specializes in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based approach designed to enhance connection, communication, and security in relationships. Since graduating from UC Berkeley in 2013, Marielle has helped many couples and families build stronger, more secure bonds.
